Editing your Petlookup

Where's the page where all your pet's wonderful trophies are? Where is your pet pet displayed? In your pet lookup! The real question is, how do you make it look interesting?

Something to Clear Up
You may be asking, isn't the pet lookup where you can type in HTML and make a little webpage about yourself or your pet? The answer is no. That's the petpage. The petpage button is on your pet's lookup. Let me guess, it sounds like I'm speaking in a foreign language so here's a screenie to clear things up.

I hope that clears it up a bit. Now, let's get started!

What do I Put?
What to put?? Hmm...maybe put a little bit of your pet's information about how it got adopted by you, or maybe if it got zapped by the lab ray you can talk about that. The best thing to do is to have fun with it and make it from the perspective of your pet. If that bores you, you can show off and talk about how your pet earned its trophies (if they have any). If not, you can talk about the books your pet has read. Otherwise, you can put random information about your pet pet and its pet pet pet if your pet pet has one.

Editing Time!
Enough chit chat and let's start editing! How you edit your pet's lookup is easy. Go to pet central which can be found on the sidebar at the top usually. Click on that and find Quick Ref among the many icons. There you can see your pets and above the picture of your pet, it should say, "To add a description to your Neopet, click here." What do you do? Obvious click the link :). Click on the pet to get to the description that you want to edit. When you first get there, the white box will be empty so think carefully about what you want to put. Don't like what you put? Click, "Clear Pet Description" above the box. Don't forget, you can use HTML in your pet's lookup. If you can't make any, why not get your first premade petlookup from Neo-Reality? Again, make sure you don't mix up petpage and petlookup. Just paste the code into the white box and click, "Update Description."

Tips
How can you make your petlookup look good and eye-catching? Here are a few tips to get you started!

  • Try to get the petlookup to be your pet theme. For example, I wouldn't get a kougra lookup for my cybunny! Try to get one the same pet! If you can't find an exact, like a Christmas Bruce, you can still use Bruce!
  • The most important thing is the color schemes of the lookup. If your pet is pink, try to get a pink petlookup so it looks nice with your pet and your viewer's eyes won't be flying around the page.
  • If you have information about your pet, try not to have it too long or else it'll be boring to read and it'll look like your pet's WHOLE biography!

    Afterwords
Remember, there are other things you can do to make your lookup so don't feel like you are limited to what you can do. Be creative ^_^
